Rigby, you were such a special girl...such a clown and such a delight. We will miss you always, as will your sister, Molly. We will all be together again some day, romping in those Elysian fields together with your brothers, Spencer and Boswell, and our family who went before us.
Till then, sweetheart...
Till then, sweetheart...

I know loss of a pet is rough!! Hope you are feeling OK
ReplyDeleteKourtney, we are all still very sad as we miss her so much.
ReplyDeleteRigby suddenly became deathly ill on Friday, so we're still in shock. Making the decision to put her to sleep was heart-wrenching but we would never have wanted her to suffer for a moment.
Hopefully, soon we will be able to laugh again at all the funny things she would do (she was truly a clown) without shedding a tear as we remember her.
Thanks, Kourtnee, for posting. I appreciate it so much.

omg. I am in tears seeing the precious pictures of Rigby. Gorgeous dogs. I am so sorry for the pain you all have to go through, especially this time of years~
ReplyDeleteHugs and love to you all.

Medusa,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your dog..especially traumatic was it happening so suddenly.
We had a cat that got very sick,so
we took her to the vet,and we had to
put her to sleep too. She was suffering, with convulsions. I broke down right in front of my husband and the vet. Before they took her
in we kissed her goodbye, and I still remember to this day how she looked at us over their shoulder as they took her in,like she was saying goodbye.
I just lost it.
I know how you feel....but don't worry, you will be all right. She is not suffering now...
God bless you all....

ReplyDeleteThank you both so much for your lovely comments.
It is comforting that my husband and son were with Rigby, stroking her and whispering in her ear, as she went to sleep.
She was such a precious little girl.

God bless everyone who is dealing with loss,be it animal or human...especially at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteLove you all,
Savvygrl
P.S. Bless Medusa for making this blog...
I'm so sorry to read this hun, the loss of a pet is like losing a family member. And what a pity it happened so quickly. I hope you find peace with it and remember the happy times. x
ReplyDeleteSavvygrl, thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jo, thank you for your sweet comment. Time is the great healer, and I know the pain of loss we're feeling right now will soften with time. It will be wonderful to think of her and remember all the funny things she did without that knot in my stomach.
She was such a gift and we were so lucky to have had her in our lives.
Thanks again, Jo, for writing. It means a lot to me.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is unfortunate that it happened so unexpectedly, yet, I am glad that she did not have to suffer. My dog, Sparkles, that I'd had from age 4 to 15,and the only consistent thing in my life from as far back as I can remember really deteriorated towards the end. We tried to help her, but she was suffering-didn't know here name, would pace the back yard for hours going no where, having accidents in the house. It broke my heart to see her life that. We inevitably put her down. It was one of the most devastating moments in my life.
ReplyDeleteI understand how difficult it is to lose a pet, and your post has brought back many memories of her. I loved/love her very much. It is good that you hold onto the notion that you will one day be reunited. I too hope to see my past loved ones in the hereafter.
Truly, Medusa, I VERY sorry for your loss, especially being that it is this time of year. I also hope that your other dog is holding up well, I know how devastating it can be on them to lose a sibling/ dog relative.
It is very important to think of the fun things and her personality at this time, to really REALLY focus on that-to think of when she was a puppy, to smile when you see pictures of her, instead of sighing-because you KNOW you will see her again.
Your post has brought a tear to my eye, hopefully my comment can bring a smile to your face.-You are never alone-we're all here for you.-JAc

ReplyDeleteI appreciate your sweet words so much. I'm so sorry to hear of your beloved Sparkles passing.
As a dear friend of ours wrote the other day, "Sometimes I wonder how we,who usually guard our emotions, let ourselves get so attached to creatures we know at some point we will have to let go, but then again, as with Aggie, so with Rigby, how could you not?"
Thanks, JAc, for writing. It means so much to me.
