  4. I have got to tell you that I took the time to read a few of your posts here. What I want to say though (and what I haven't yet came across) is that both anorexia and bulimia are MENTAL...PSYCHOLOGICAL problems. These girls that are affected do not think like you and I. They have a different perceprtion on things, and while it is good to advice the ones that may think it's cool to try to lose a few extra pound, it is a totally different problems with those truly affected by these diseases.
What I'm saying is that these girls need PROFESSIONAL help and close parenting.
God bless them all, they need it !

  6. To Cat~
You may be missing the point. I have read nearly all Medusa's posts and have never once gotten the idea of weight loss in any of them but rather what can happen with a simple goal of losing a few pounds and not the right way. I battled anorexia 20 years and just now in recovery and had no clue losing just a few pounds would lead to irreversible damage, many hospitalizations, and much depression and misery.
There are so many who have been helped by Medusa which is evident in their posts. Medusa even goes as far as to posts critics comments as she has nothing to hide.
we can't shelter everyone and by not doing her posts those of us in recovery would be losing out and those wanting help and land upon her site may never choose recovery.
It's not Medusa's responsibility to tend to everyone's separate psychological and mental issues at hand. It's each person's responsibility and if they want to use this site other than for recovery then they are still extremely sick and need to evaluate where they are. society doesn't shelter nor care, Medusa does.
