IN LOVING MEMORY: POLLY ANN WILLIAMS

Polly Ann Williams

Holly Huber's beautiful and moving tribute to Pollack "Polly" Ann Williams, who was featured in the HBO documentary Thin.

Polly suffered from anorexia nervosa for many years, and was only 33 when she died in February 2008 from an overdose of sleeping pills, a suicide that her sister, Bebe Reed, said was "a direct result of her internal battle with the eating disorder. She said she could not fight the fight any longer."

I love your blog. The research and effort you've put into this anti-mia/ana blog...well, I really appreciate it and I know hundreds if not thousands of other women (and men) out there will too.

This was so upsetting to me. I watched that entire series. She had such a fun personality and I'm sure all the people who knew her personally miss her dearly.

Rest in Peace Polly

I recently lost my mom to anorexia/diabulimia. I've watched the film and was completely overwhelmed. And then, thinking that Polly is gone, such-like my mom (my mother also killed herself - but because of these things, as Polly) - I wish it didn't have to happen to her, or her family and those who knew her.
