TippyToes, TippyToes, wherefore art thou, TippyToes??

Tippy's been MIA for a few days at Kimkins, and Kimmer's response to an inquiry at Kimkins about Tippy's whereabouts was this:

"Tippy is having problems with DH and computer time."

Today (November 30th, 2007) the intrepid detective, HoneyBee (aka BabyBug), hit paydirt when she reported on LCF that TippyToes (aka Jeannie Baitinger), Kimmer's PR person at Kimkins, is now posting on another forum. Lo and behold, TippyToes is posting as "JeannieLynn" on the Eating Low with Amy Forum.

Tippy's a FORUM WHORE! Oh, no!
Here are some of JeannieLynn's posts on Eating Low with Amy:

"...thanks for the answer! I have not been on maintenance for long. I keep watching the scales go back and forth a couple of pounds too. Kind of worries me. How did you reintroduce foods? And how many calories are you taking in these days? Can you post a daily menu? Thanks.

I too am very glad to find this site. Thank you Amy! I am a KK refugee too. I hated to leave but the drama was getting pretty bad. I will say I lost a lot of weight following Kimkins. She had a good plan. But the plan behind the plan... (shudders) Although lately I saw less of this. The site got a pretty good cleanup in the last couple of months and people are encouraged not to starve. That's a good thing! But I think all the clean up in the world will prove to be a day late and a dollar short for Kimkins site. Too much fraud, which is a true shame since she did have a plan that really does work well for so many. Fraud with herself, the Russian Brides, possibly the new front page pic of herself and so much more. I have to wonder why? What a great way to ruin what could have been the next diet breakthrough. But, what's done is done. There is no changing that now.

Like many of you Atkins failed me. But looking back (and forward) I am a food abuser. Food is my crack. I over eat. So maybe I can't blame Atkins. Kimkins did help me get my eating under control to lose the rest of the weight.
Still, I am an over eater to this day but have found low carb foods with less fat won't hurt me one bit. It's like having your cake and eating it too. But now it's not cake. It is steak! haha

I think many of us learned a lot at KK. Not only did we learn how to lose weight but we also learned that forums are public and we should be careful giving out information about ourselves. You never know where it will end up. Ducks taught us that.

Speaking of ducks, yes they made me want to duck hunt too.

Anyways, I am looking forward to getting to know you all! I am currently on maintanence, using a balance of Kimkins and Atkins to stay there. Seems to be working just fine. But I need support too.

Amy, again, thank you for providing us with a safe place to go. Right now I would be very lost without your site."

And this quote from Tippy says it all...

"Good to see I am not alone. I am glad to have found this site for many
reasons. One day I will explain them all."

Yeah, and not a minute too soon, Tippy. Spill your guts. It's about damn time.

Kimmer? Looks like you and Cap'n Morgan will be the only ones left going down with the Kimkins ship. Have a nice trip.

Since updates on Kimkins Exposed and many other blogs have dried up, there's been a serious dearth in updated information being reported by bloggers, myself included.

So if you're looking for updated info, please check out these two blogs...
Kimkins Exhausted and
The Green Bracelet Diaries (

The blogger @ Kimkins Exhausted is doing some intrepid digging re Kimkins, and that lying, thieving, scamming, remorseless, sociopathic, glib, heinous (give me a minute...I'll think of some more adjectives) Heidi/Kimmer and her doltish minions, typographically-challenged TipsyTwat and our favorite 1-800 pseudo psychic, SingingLots. Kudos to this blogger who has managed to maintain a great sense of humor while trying to uncover the truth in this whole sordid mess.

And if you want a good laugh check out The Green Bracelet Diaries (or take another look at Heidi's photo from the deposition...that's always good for a laugh). That sorry piece of work (Heidi, that is) needs to be run out of Dodge and into the Big House, NOW!

Kimkins Debunked: Myth #1

Kimkins Myth #1: You can't starve if you have body fat

First, let me make this very clear: I am not a medical doctor. Nothing I write here should be construed in any way, shape or form as medical advice. However, I do have a doctorate in Biochemistry. That doesn't make me smarter than Kimmer and her minions it just ... nah. It makes me smarter than them :)

One oft-repeated claim by everyone's favorite discredited diet guru is that so long as you have an ounce of body fat on you, you will not starve. In fact, this individual claims there is no such thing as starvation mode, a statement she is uniquely unqualified to make. Nonetheless, on the face of it, this seems like it could make sense. If you don't eat, or severely restrict your calories, your body will naturally burn its own fat, and only its own fat, to make up the deficit, right?

Most people have an idea of what happens in hypothermia and frostbite -- the body shunts blood flow away from your extremities in an effort to preserve the brain and vital organs. You can live without fingers or toes, but you cannot live without a brain. Well, most people can't live without a brain. Your body will always, always prioritize functions in a way that ultimately preserves life.

If you enter a state of starvation or semi-starvation you will start burning body fat for fuel. But, and this is a big but, you will also begin to cannabilize your lean muscle mass at the same time. Yes, if you are obese you are going to 'burn' proportionally more fat for fuel than a lean person would, but you are most assuredly going to lose some muscle mass as well. Starvation isn't just about how many calories you consume, it also involves derangement of normal metabolism. If your body is consuming lean muscle as an energy source .... well, you're starving.

Why? Because muscle requires calories to maintain itself. One pound of muscle requires approximately 50 calories per day to maintain itself, as opposed to 2 calories a day to maintain a pound of fat. Your body has no idea whether or not you're eating 500 calories a day because you want your ex-husband's new wife to be jealous of your hawt new figure or because there was a massive natural disaster which wiped out most/all of the available food supplies, and it doesn't care -- the end result is the same. Your body will do whatever it can to preserve the only food supply it can count on -- its fat stores -- as best it can. Because muscle requires so many calories to maintain, it will reduce the amount of lean muscle mass as much as it can while preserving life in an effort to reduce the overall number of calories you need to stay alive.

May I just point out that consuming protein does nothing to prevent this.

An example -- suppose you are an individual weighing 200 lbs. You have undergone some fancy tests which reveal that 120 of those lbs represent lean body mass (which includes muscle/bone/organs) and the remaining 80 lbs is body fat. Now, suppose you know that of that 120 lbs of lean body mass, 60 lbs of that represents muscle. That 60 lbs of muscle will require approximately 3000 calories a day to maintain itself whereas the 80 lbs of fat will only require 160 calories to maintain itself.

Oh, Pshaw! Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Pickles Lady, you may be saying. Why should muscle require so many more calories to maintain itself? Because, dear reader, muscle is a lot more complicated than adipose tissue. A single muscle cell, called a myocyte, consists of many, many myofibrils which have a fairly complicated architecture and synthesis, which undergoes constant maintenance and repair in order to stay in working order. A single fat cell, called an adiptocyte, consist of a basic cell with a glob of lipid in it. It requires almost nothing by way of maintenance. Furthermore, muscle is a better source of ATP (adenosine triphosphate, a molecule which all your cells use for energy, and which is synthesized from carbs, fats and proteins) than fat.

Now, suppose you're absolutely desperate and pay a morbidly obese woman a cool $60 to join her diet site, even though there is no indication anywhere that she ever successfully applied it it herself. This diet bills itself as a tweaked version of Atkins and Stillman's, basically keeping carbs at 20 g or less per day, 70-90 g of lean protein, and 'just enough fat to make it work." This diet, at best, permits 760 calories a day based on 20 g of carbs and 90 g protein. Suppose you decide 'just enough fat to make it work' means around 20g on a bad day (that's just under an ounce, BTW) -- well, you've just added 180 calories to your total which means that at the higher end of Kimkins you are consuming just 940 calories per day.

That, dear reader, is 460 calories less than the best meal you'd be served at Auschwitz and frankly, that way lies madness.

Brilliant? I'd say so.

Heidi's New Digs...

In an attempt to hide her ill-gotten millions, Heidi/Kimmer bought a house in California two weeks ago. And how did she pay for it? By digging deep into the pockets of those big, ole white stretch pants and peeling off $475,000 CASH that she reeled in from poor, unsuspecting people desperate to lose weight. Now isn't that just special.

As well, she sprung for a new car for herself and her spawn, Brandon.

Heidi? As I understand it, the new house is in your name. If you do decide to transfer it to Brandon or a dummy corporation in an attempt to make it judgment-proof, you might want to look up the meaning of fraudulent conveyance/transfer.

Here's the Coles notes on it from Wikipedia:

"Fraudulent conveyance
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A fraudulent conveyance, also fraudulent transfer is a civil cause of action. It arises in debtor/creditor relations, particularly with reference to insolvent debtors. The cause of action is typically brought by creditors or by bankruptcy trustees. The usual fact situation involves a debtor who donates his assets, usually to an "insider", and leaves himself nothing to pay his creditors as part of an asset protection scheme. However, it is not uncommon to see fraudulent conveyance applications in relation to bona fides transfers, where the bankrupt has simply been more generous than they should have or, in business transactions, the business should have ceased trading earlier to avoid giving certain business creditors an unfair preference (see generally, wrongful trading). If prosecuted successfully, the plaintiff is entitled to recover the property transferred or its value from the transferee who has received a gift of the debtor's assests.

There is an old equitable maxim: 'One must be just, before one is generous.'"

Just thought I'd give you the head's up on that one, Heidi. Looks like you've been backed into a corner, no?

You might want to spend some time sitting and working in that hot tub, sans water. Might be good conditioning for you as your jail cell will be roughly the same size.

Now, I ask you....

Does Heidi Diaz aka Kimmer have a serious case of wish fulfillment or is she totally delusional in thinking that she would ever look like Lesya, the woman from the Russian Bride site whose picture Heidi pilfered as her "after" picture on her site, Kimkins...

Not very well, I'd say.

Take a gander at the most recent picture of Heidi Diaz (aka Kimmer aka a million other aliases), founder of the scamulous Kimkins Diet, taken during her deposition re the civil suit on November 12th, 2007.

So much has been happening lately related to Heidi Diaz and the Kimkins Diet scam that you'd have to blog full time just to keep up with the daily developments.

Fortunately, there are more dedicated bloggers than me out there who do keep their blogs up to date, so to catch up on the latest goings-on with Heidi/Kimmer/Kimkins, check out these wonderful blogs:

Oh, and Heidi? You are a disgrace to humanity.
