MIND GAMES...

Look at the image below. Is the dancer turning clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Photobucket

If you see her turning clockwise, then the left side of your brain is doing most of the work, which means you are more of a logical/analytical person.

If you see the dancer turning counter-clockwise, then the right side of your brain is in charge, meaning you are an artistic/intuitive person.

Your brain controls the direction in which the dancer turns.

Now that your brain is all scrambled, here are some pointers from Dave Barry:

14 THINGS THAT IT TOOK ME OVER 50 YEARS TO LEARN

"1. Never, under any circumstances, take a laxative and a sleeping pill on the same night.

2. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved and never will achieve its full potential, that word would be "meetings."

3. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

4. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

5. You should not confuse your career with your life.

6. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

7. Never lick a steak knife.

8. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

9. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

10. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

11. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

12. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above-average drivers.

13. A person who is nice to you but rude to a waiter is not a nice person (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

14. Your friends love you anyway."

That's freaky! I swear at times it changes before my eyes! I can see it both ways. Does that make me conflicted?

"Does that make me conflicted?"

LOL! No, OYB, that means that your brain is ambidextrous.

Here's a little blurb I found about an ambidextrous brain:

Besides left or right-dominant people, there are mixed dominants: they can use both the sides with almost equal command. Mixed dominants, however, may vary in lateralization. Highly lateralized individuals (more males than females) move more completely to the task—appropriate hemisphere than their less lateralized counterparts, who may end up performing a task in both the sides..."

And here's the link to the blurb:

I see it both ways too! What is even more freaky is I can say switch and I see it turn the other way.

Honey, you know what's strange?

Two hours ago, she would only spin clockwise for me, but now she's spinning both ways.

When I yelled "switch" at her, she totally ignored me. Same thing happens around the house here when I yell ;^)

I saw it both ways too at first then counter then clockwise.
but I already know I'm a square thinker.
I tried your method of yelling "SWITCH", but she ran off into the corner and started whimpering.

What do you think that means?

LOL, Cognomen! Did you try turning your head sideways? Dancing lady will often change direction if you do that. Don't ask me why I know that.

PS I think she thought you yelled "B*TCH!"

I saw this on some anti-k thing a the end of last year. Don't ask where, because I don't remember. I can change her direction at will. You can almost feel your brain switch gears when it happens.

theTRUTH said, "I can change her direction at will."

You can? Wow. You've got powers ;^)

If you look down at the foot that makes contact, then blink, you can switch back and fourth & go either direction! LoL

anonymous, I just tried your blinking suggestion...and it didn't work for me :^(

My brain must be totally scrambled ;^)

Count me in with those who can see her spin both ways.

Okay, I saw her going counter-clockwise, I asked my husband and he saw her going clockwise. Then he said she switched, and he kept seeing her switching ( as opposed to bi*ching) all the while I still she her counter clockwise. Then I see her switch!. Then she switches back. My husband can see her continually changing and I don't.
Freaky

This is extreme fun in a room full of people who haven't yet seen it and who haven;t read an explaination of it. Just pop it up and ask one person which way the girl is spinning. Others should immediately chime in with disbelief. Messing with people is good fun.

Kinda like a "mental" game of Twister, eh, Truth?

It changes for me also. I can blink and it will sometimes change. Sometimes before it changes, she freezes in place for a few seconds. Weird.

whew glad i
read your commnets cause I swear she was going counter clockwise was I scrolled down looking for the ring and when I read your words about her she changed to clockwise

dang you were busy this week

Medusa said...

LOL, 2big! Yes, it was a busy week. I was spinning wildly off in all directions, just like the dancer :^)

I know I'm a little late to this party, but, wanted to chime in on the dancer. She spins both ways for me too. Can't wait to show this to a few of my RL friends. Isn't it amazing how the human mind works? Pretty cool!

i figured out how to make her switch! at first she turned counter clockwise making my right brain work, which mae sense since i'm a lefty. then i read the comments and when i scrolled back up, she turned clockwise! if i closed my eyes and pictured her going one way, most often when i opened my eyes she would go that way! i thought it was impossible, but if you look while her leg is crossing the other when her back is to us, no matter what direction she turns you need to think of the leg instead of behind the other leg, in front of the other leg, or instead of in front behind, and keep alternating when she seems to cross her legs to our view. now that i do that, she appears to not turn but swish her leg back and forth. haha good fun.

hahahahah it does turn sides !!!! counted the spins and found out she does it randomly, if u look at this a long time u;ll see that she does a half-spin and then switches !!!

Some pointers are even better if you need a dictionary to get them.

Me again. Ha, you´re lying, folks. The girl on the picture does NOTHING, just standing there ... (guess I´m brain dead now) *erks*
